Notes to Self: Chicago Conference
1. Take your better camera not your smaller camera. No pictures to display, crummy quality.
2. Remember that early morning flights get you home sooner but at what cost. I was wiped out.
3. Figure out a way to buy a cool Samson microphone without having to go through district red tape.
4. Ask massage therapist about the right shoulder hurting. Could it be from the arm shooting up to volunteer for next year’s conference?
5. Remember to pack an extra bag for books to take home with you.
More later, I really need to do National Board homework.
Happy Reading.

Hee! You’re a brave, brave woman for volunteering like that. It was so great to meet you (and Chuck!) in person. See you in Portland!

Dear MsMac,
I can’t believe I found out about the Kidslitosphere conference *yesterday*! But it’s still amazing synchronicity for me.
I’m an historian, now working my way slowly into the field of early childhood education, with a special interest in children’s literature, play and the life of the imagination. Since 2005, I’ve launched a children’s book review (Bookish), which I found too costly to continue to produce, and so early this year, I launched a blog, which went on hiatus as soon as the school let out for the summer… And I’ve been slow to restart because I’m now working in conjunction with a Portland, OR venture called Cafe au Play, and talking about moving over to their website…and many other very cool possibilities as well.
Anyway, all of this to say, I’m really excited both to have discovered this group of bloggers, and to have discovered, right here in the Portland area. I’d love to hear more about next year’s conference, and see if I can help in some way, so please do contact me.

Note to MYself on #1 — BUY a better camera! My photos were junk, too. Very disappointing, but lucky for us, others compensated!

You are so awesome for volunteering to organize next year’s conference. I’m three hours away from Portland, and I will be there. I will help!

Yeah, Jone! I know the conference is going to be awesome…and I just can’t believe that you put your hand right up and volunteered with no hesitation. Maybe you could use conference planning towards your National Board certification.
