Meet MsMac
I am a library media specialist at Silver Star Elementary in Vancouver, WA. My love of books began at an early age. I numbered my childhood books, an indicator of my secret desire to work in a library.
I love to scrapbook and bead when I am not reading or writing. I live with my husband, two daschunds, a canary (who provides spring in winter with his beautiful singing) and a diluted tortie.
Deowriter is my personal blog. I intend to publish a collection of poetry one day.

Hi, Robin suggested I contact you concerning the next Kidlitosphere conference in Portland in 2008 – if there’s a mailing list or information list or anything like that could I please be put on it? I missed #1, Chicago was a little too far and just 0ne-too-many in a year that included a trip to Japan for the SF Worldcon, but I would very much like to come to #2 next year, according to all I’ve heard about the one just past it was a blast!
I look forward to hearing more from you -

Hi there Ms Mac!
I’m the Middle Grade Fiction Organizer for this year’s Cybils award. I just wanted to let you know that the title you nominated, Stolen Children, has a publication date of October 16th. For this year’s Cybils, we are considering titles published between Jan 1 2008 – October 15th 2008. So, I know it seems crazy strict, but the deadline has to be respected. Next year, this title will be up for consideration. I just wanted to invite you to submit another nomination at the site, if you wish.
Thanks!

Thanks for dropping by the blog! You mentioned a Kitlit night in Portland on Friday? Where do I find the details?
thanks,

Hi, Jone! I looked around for your email but couldn’t find it, so I hope this will suffice. I’m a book blogger and am exploring the possibility of organizing a book blogger retreat for 2009. Coincidentally, I’ve tentatively decided on Portland, as it’s closest to me in California and holds the allure of Powell’s.
I’ve got a bunch of questions about organizing something like this, and it’s my understanding you were one of the organizers for the last Kidlit Conference. Would you please email me so I can pick your brain about how to organize something like this?
Thanks!
Trish

Hi Jone,
Love your blog! There is so much information. I have already found a book that I will share with my kindergarten class. I too love reading and hope to inspire my students to read as much as they can ( when they learn to read of course). take care
